** Curtiss F9C Sparrowhawk - 1:32 - Williams Brothers
1/32 scale plastic injection-molded model of the Curtiss F9C "Sparrowhawk". The SparrowHawk is unique as the only aircraft to be carried aboard lighter-than-air "mother-ship" dirigibles - the USS Akron and USS Macon. Only one SparrowHawk is known to survive and is on display at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. Wingspan was 25'-05 "; length 20'-07 "; max speed 176.5 mph; range 350 miles. Armament was two .30 cal machineguns. The kit makes a model about 7.5 inches long with a wingspan of 9 inches. The kit is a vintage reissue kit - has a basic cockpit, film windscreen, detailed R-975 radial engine, a sky-hook assembly, a spatted undercarriage and rigging diagram. - decals as shown - decals and painting reference for 6 aircraft: Bu No 9056, 9057, 9058, 9059, 9060 and 9061. Includes instruments, wing and fuselage chevron/band edge pinstripes, and insignia for USS Akron and USS Macon.. This kit can be made into a superb model!
